MT (machine translation) and PE (Post Editing), go hand in hand. A more or less machine-translated text is then checked and edited by a translator to ensure everything is correct – grammar, terminology, consistency and style. In doing so, translators are supported by CAT Tools (Computer-assisted Translation). They contain functions to improve text consistency and accuracy and work with Translation Memories (TM), previously translated texts and term bases.

Saved in a Translation Memory are previously translated segments so that they do not have to be translated again. TM increases the efficiency of the translation process and improves both the quality and the text consistency of the translation. Specific client and industry terminology-based data banks and glossaries can also be established.
